10-12-Happy Birthday Too Summer

AHERE a beautiful site for Summer, it is in French and in English, with a lot of great pictures and articles

AA bit out of the latest article on it

Joaquin, too, has spoken of the family's closeness, referring to them as 'Team Phoenix', and admitting he called on them to come for 'relief visits' while filming Quills in London. 'It was the best,' recalls Summer. 'My mom and Rain and Liberty and I were pretty much there with him throughout.'

Better still was the time she signed the contract to work on Esther Kahn in London, only to discover that the very same day Joaquin had signed for Gladiator, also to be filmed in London. 'He saved my life,' she says. 'I had my own flat, but the minute he got there I was just living in his hotel room. It can be lonely on a film set, and England is so far away. It was really nice having somebody to go home to and eat with and hang out with.'

When Joaquin was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor in Gladiator, he took his mother to the ceremony and invited Summer and Casey to the party afterwards. 'We ended up dancing salsa all night long, beaming with pride,' Summer recalls. 'You don't see many other sisters and moms at the Oscars,' she laughs.

He said that his friend Joaquin likes to go there and that Joaquin even has got a home colonics kit which he uses

AAnd here a comment Micheal Cain made some time ago

Caine makes small talk

Oscar nominee MICHAEL CAINE has enormous admiration for the young Hollywood stars - but can't believe how short they are. Caine, an imposing six foot two inches, has worked with a number of young stars including EWAN MCGREGOR, STEPHEN DORFF, JOAQUIN PHOENIX and TOBEY MAGUIRE. Cider House Rules, The (1999) star says, "I think they are wonderful. They are very serious and hard working. But the thing that strikes me is that I've never seen a tall one." He adds, "It seems to me that there is a whole generation of very talented small people. Good looking, yes. But maybe there are more ambitious because they are more angry because they are short."

22-11-The European release of the movie SIGNS will come approximately one month after the US release. There are only the following release dates at the moment, Netherlands 5 September 2002, Germany 12 September 2002.

AA transcript of a paragraph from Movieline Dec/Jan 2002:

Hooked On Phoenix
"For those who thought Gladiator's real breakout star was Joaquin Phoenix, so deft at playing the sinister but smouldering Emperor Commodus, there's good news -- he's popping up in several intriquing movie projects. Phoenix is currently shooting writer-director M. Night Shyamalan's Signs, a spooky thriller about the appearance of mysterious crop circles on a Pennsylvania farm. We hope this one, which stars Mel Gibson instead of Bruce Willis for a change, turns out to be more up to the level of Shymalan's The Sixth Sense than his last effort Unbreakable. Phoenix can also be seen next year in Buffalo Soldiers, a subversive military comedy in the style of Catch-22 and M*A*S*H. He'll play a roguish G.I. who's a kingin in a criminal subculture among enlisted soldiers stationed in West Germany in 1989. Anna Paquin plays the love interest. Another upcoming project is the very off-beat sounding It's All About Love, directed by Danish wunderkind Thomas Vinterberg(The Celebration).
Set in the not-so-distant future in the time of a new Ice Age, the film stars Phoenix as a literature professor about to be divorced from Claire Danes, who plays a figure skater. Once the two embark on a kind of road trip, during which New Yorkers mysteriously drop dead and Ugandans float into the air because of zero gravity, their relationship deepens. Well, wouldn't yours."

GLADIATOR STAR FINDS TRUE LOVE IN WAKE OF 9/11 TRAGEDY

For Gladiator baddie Joaquin Phoenix, love grew from the ashes of the World Trade Center.

The 27-year-old and his galpal of a few weeks, Norwegian model Inger Lise Ebeltoft, 25, decided to make their relationship a little more permanent in the wake of the terror attack. She moved into his New York apartment.

"We met at a party in the summer," Inger tells one of my Scandinavian spies. "Then Joaquin took me for a walk in Central Park. A day later, I called him and we met in a coffee shop. Since then, it has been him and me." Shortly after 9-11, leggy blonde Inger abandoned her apartment near the WTC and moved in with Phoenix.

She said of the actor, whose icy-cold Emperor Commodus in Gladiator earned him an Oscar nomination: "He is an amazing person. I don't know how things would have been if I did not have him to lean on in these chaotic moments."

31-10-

This river runs, oh so deep within my soul
And it flows forever
And for the rest of all time

Always be there

Go HERE for dedication for River, if you want to burn a candle

30-10-Another intervieuw with Inger Lise, very big thanks to Marissa for finding and translating this intervieuw :) :) :) :)

She has less contact with her friends now, since she is homeless and has to travel between her jobs in New York and her boyfriend in Philadelphia ! The old apartment in New York is full of dust since she slept with her window open on the night to the 11 September ! In Philadelphia there is probably more glamour with the boyfriend ! The Hollywood star Joaquin Phoenix had a big part in the Oscar winning movie “ Gladiator” he is the brother of departed River Phoenix.

You can read the full article HERE

29-10- here a Gladiator Stamp and     a Joaquin stamp you can buy at EBAY

ASomething older: From an Australian paper, intervieuw with Kate Winslet

Having just finished Gladiator, Phoenix came to Quills completely exhausted. Winslet, who plays the maid smuggling de Sade's text out of the asylum to which he's been banished, proved a big help. Phoenix takes the part of the asylum's pioneering abbe who advocates a libertine approach to mental illness. He recalled: "I'm standing there with the crew at 10 o'clock at night saying, 'I'm not coming back tomorrow, there's no way I can do this', and Kate's asking if she can bring me some tea. She's bringing tea and biscuits for everyone, throwing parties, she's just a really considerate woman. And you can see that in her acting. She's very giving. There's a great warmth about her." "It was my project to get Joaquin through the film," Winslet admitted, "because he was very tired and he was playing the hardest role of all of us."
